So many things to think of! Ceremony location and content, reception hall, wedding dress and other garb, guest list, photographer, caterer, florist, honeymoon . . . The list goes on and on. And you want everything to be as perfect as possible. Even the music--especially the music!
String of Pearls has been the answer for many bridal couples. Nothing says elegance like real, live music. And our group--whether in the compact big-band format (8 members) or combo (4-5 players)--has the broad appeal and classy presentation you'd expect from a popular, highly recommended wedding band. (See "Best of" and "Top Wedding Links" logos below.)
Pearls offers you a custom mix of swing, blues, latin rhythms, soft rock, jazz, and song. In fact, you can use our list of selections to shape our program for your event. All the tunes are arranged with proven audience appeal.
Now based in Cannon Beach, Oregon, String of Pearls is well known from numerous public festival and concert appearances. Pearls combines the prestige of a name group with the personal consideration you want in a band for the most important party of your life.
Your Oregon guests may recognize String of Pearls from our public appearances at the Coaster Theatre and City Park in Cannon Beach, and at the Performing Arts Center in Astoria. Or they may have heard us playing for private gatherings at the SurfSand Resort in Cannon Beach, Portland's Benson Hotel, or the Astoria Country Club.
Guests from Northern California would know the Pearls from our nightclub engagements at Bentley's in the Sunnyvale Sheraton and Mr. E's (Berkeley); mainstage festival appearances at the Palo Alto Concours d'Elegance, Mirassou Wine & Jazz Festival, San Jose Tapestry in Talent, Pacific Coast Fog Fest, San Carlos Art & Wine Faire, Celebrate Santa Cruz, etc.; and outdoor concerts in Los Altos, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, San Carlos, San Mateo, and many other San Francisco Bay Area cities.
In 1999, 2001, and 2002, Pearls served as musical ambassadors to China, making a total of 23 appearances in 9 cities.
The band is also known for our recordings: "Makin' Whoopee!" (1997) and "Totally Swing!" (2000). Available in both CD and cassette form, they are carried on-line at www.Amazon.com and www.Gigmasters.com. Or order direct by clicking albums.
All this attention does not, however, prevent String of Pearls from knowing how to play a support role. We are often recommended by wedding consultants, who appreciate our sensitivity to the needs of the moment--whether it be for a sentimental "first dance," for moderate or hot dance numbers, or for gentle background and dinner music. (We can also "emcee" as needed.)
Our wedding liaison, Connie Anne, would be delighted to answer any questions: email@example.com, (877) MUS-LIVE (toll-free) or (503) 436-2196.
Band leader Lee Stromquist is available at firstname.lastname@example.org or (503) 861-1328.
String of Pearls truly enjoys wedding receptions, and we approach each one as the unique and special event it is meant to be.
Dear Bride and Groom:
